does your dr. or staff tell you before your given a surgery date you must loose wght.

i'm concern because i have not been given a surgery date and i have one more pre-op appt. my g-friend and i both have our consultation togethere and she was given her date about 2 wks ago.she has lost about 8 pounds but have since regained could this weight lost be my problem..help
