Strong urine odor years after RNY

Serious Question! My urine has the most foul and pervasive odor!I am wondering if it is related to post-RNY and weight loss? Going to the dr. is $$$ and I don't know to go to general practitioner or back to bariatric surgeon. I know I need to drink more water. It is not UTI - no pain and not ammonia odor. It is embarrassing and I wonder who else can smell me! Using baby powder - helps for a few hours.
