I have a question about the JP drain-see details

I had severe complications from surgery, developed a leak, rushed back to ER, in ICU for one month. I am now home with a G tube due to an obstruction in my intestine and a JP drain. My JP drain collects about 20cc of everything I drink and eat. It is not changing. The Doctor is thinking of putting me on IV for 2 weeks to see if it will heal. Has anyone had this experience or have knowledge about it? Will it most likely heal while on IV? I am afraid of more surgery. THANKS
