Does he require any amount of weight loss prior to surgery?

I have my first consultation with Dr. Rout in December and I am trying to find out all I can. I was wondering about his requirements as to weight loss prior to surgery if any. Does he perform the lap procedure or open only? Any information would be greatly appreciated. About how long did it take from approval date to actually having the surgery? Thanks.
