Should I go to my family doctor or bariatric surgeon for my six month diet?

Can you do all the pre-op appointments and do the 6 month suppervised diet by the surgeon and do it at the same time? I'm new to this and I'm a little confussed. I just don't know if I should go to my family doctor first before I start the rest Thank you for anyhelp you can give me. Sonya
