Anyone had WLS after having a diaphragmatic hernia repair?

Had evaluation meeting with WLS yesterday, and he doesn't think he can do RNY on me. Five yrs ago I had a diaphragmatic hernia that caused my stomach and spleen to move up into my thorax. He is waiting to read the operative notes from that surgery to make a final decision. Says the part of the stomach that would be made into the pouch may have been damaged. Anyone had surgery after all this? I am devastated after talking with him, and it will be many days before I'll get his response. Thanks. Janell
