Has anyone had any experience with Medallion Medicaid of VA

My PCP has set-up pre-op meeting with WLS surgeon here in Bristol. But has expressed how "hard" it is to get Medicaid to cover the cost. My BMI is 46.2 and multiple medical issues that might be resolved with losing a substancial amount of weight.
