Anyone on mental health medications early on post-op?

i was looking into mood stabolizers for my BPD and Bi polar d/o and i found topamax. the side effects say nothing about weight gain. but possibly weight loss. i was wondering if anyone has had any problems with medications for mental health and weight again post- op. im only 3 months out. right now i started taking the sam-e. but i think i need something stronger. thanks.
