Do you know about Pernicious Anemia?

I found out yesterday that I have Pernicious Anemia. This is where my body is not absorbing B-12 like it should. This has been causing dizziness, confusion, forgetfulness, pain and numbness in my legs and arms, tongue problems (food doesn't taste right or bumps on my tongue) and extreme fatigue. With the numbness and tingling in my legs, the doctors wanted to point toward Lupus or MS. Needless to say, I was scared to death. I have spent the last month getting progressivly worse and worried out of my mind. The Neurologist pointed toward the Pernicious Anemia. Why didn't my PCP do a B-12 test with all the other 500 test??? He is a great doctor...don't get me wrong. But we have to be really aware of what test our doctors are putting us through. This isn't really a question...I guess I just wanted to let everyone read this in case someone else is having the same problem. Here is a link to read more about the problem. http://www.pennhealth.com/ency/article/000569.htm I am blessed that this problem can be resolved with B-12 shots, but that doesn't take away from the fear that I have had the last few months.
