Acid reflux with lap-band

Hi The doctors office called me back & said due to my Upper GI test shows I have acid reflux and swallow slow. The Dr office is acting like my surgery may be postponed. Has anyone ever heard that if u have acid reflux or Upper GI problems you cant get lap-band? The doctors office hasnt called to give me all the info. The front office called and told me this but really couldnt explain it then asked if I wanted gastric bypass instead? I'm so discouraged I dont know what to do. Surgery schedule for Jan 3. Any advice is welcomed.
