Concerned over pouch not expanding after 5 mos
ok.....I know this is going to sound strange, but I am concerned about this. I have asked some people and have gotten the same response, "Be happy it hasn't stretched too much yet, so you can lose more" Don't get me wrong, I am thrilled to have lost to much, but I am worried about it because I don't want to lose too much and get underweight..lol. I laugh just writing that. I did ask my doctor at 3 mos post op because I still could not eat more than 2 fl ozs. (my pouch was made at 15cc at time of surgery) I was told that by 3 mos + the pouch would normally stretch to stop a person from losing too much and not stopping (4-6 ozs). I measure everything I eat still because I am scared of vomitting and so far have not overfilled to point of pain or vomitting. Very solid foods like meats fill me MORE and I can't always fit 2 ozs...some foods take less room and I can eat more ie soups and salads. I am not feeling deprived or hungry, I take my time to eat a meal and I am healthy with good bloodwork. I just take iron and get potassium rich foods as they were a bit low at the 3 mo mark. I make sure I take my vitamins and supplements every day too. Here I am at 5 mos post and just wondering if any other of you have ever experienced this and does it change. I see my doctor may 14 for my 6 mo check up and if it hasn't resolved by then will ask for a scope. I should add that I DO eat until I feel full.
