WIll I be on an IV forever?? This is a nightmare!

I am 1 year out. My labs came back and I was put on an iron IV once a week and also receive a weekly B-12 injection. I took my vitamins, calcium, and iron religiously. My hemmotologist tells me this may be a permanent thing because I can no longer absorb. I was never told this could happen. Is there hope to get back on supplements?
