If I change my PCP before surgery, can my surgeon refuse to do surgery?

My pcp has referred me to a surgeon. I have had my consult and was approved for surgery on Nov. 6th. Due to another health issue not being taken care of in a timely manner, I am worried that my pcp will not give me the after care that I need should I have any complications after WLS. Do I need final clearance from her before surgery because I would like to find someone that could recognize something that she may miss? I know I need to change but will I have to start over even though I have already been approved?
