How often do people get osteoperosis after WLS?

I am waiting for approval from my insurance for gastric bypass surgery.Lately I have read quite a few stories about post-ops getting osteoperosis later on in life.Can't this be prevented by taking your calcium as directed?Liquid calcium should solve any pill swalling problems.Any imput would be appreciated!
