How long do the staples last?

I had my open RNY 2 years ago. I have read so much about being transected and I am not. Does anyone know how long the staples can last without a staple line disrupture. I am feeling great but I am worried that I could get a staple line disrupture. What is the success rate for people who have been transected in keeping weight vs. open RNY? Thanks-Donna
