Anyone developed a rash on arms post-op?

Could a rash on the top of my forearms be surgery (or post-op diet) related? I am 10 weeks out from open RNY and have develped an itchy, red, ugly rash on my arms. (I'm using Benadryl and/or Cortizone 10 to control the itching, but want to know the cause.) Could this be caused by a vitamin deficiency, dehydration, or something of the like related to our post-op diet? I'm wondering if I should contact my RNY surgeon or just go directly to a dermatologist for this?
