DOES ANYONE NO WHAT DENIED-PENDING MEANS?

I have been calling the insurance company for 4 weeks everyday they tell me it is under review so today when I called to my suprise I was told it is denied-pending. I said what does that mean. He told me MAYBE it means they are requesting addtional information and it it denied until they get it. If so thats great but he said MAYBE he was not sure and I should ask my doctor. Well of course that will take another week to get the papers to the doctor. So if anyone knows what that means I would love to hear from you> I am so upset. I feel so irritable because of all this.
