Platelet question?

I just had my first set of labs done (I am a month post op on 6/21) and Doctor wants me to have them done again because my platelets are low. Anyone else have this? Is this common? Can it be attributed to not enough B12? Kidney or Gall Bladder function? Any help would set my mind at ease. Thanks - Jill
