Have approval then surgery cancelled...pre-existing clause???

My surgery was approved, I had Pre-admission testing done called for my surgery time the day before and got it , one hour later I got a call saying I saw my surgery on 10/15/01 and got insurance on 10/01/02. So because I'm 15 day short on my one year pre-existing clause they cancelled my surgery and said I can have it I just have to wait a year??? If anyone has any info on the situation please email me.
