Woodbridge, VA-Dr. Halmi patients-anyone self pay for surgery?

My insurance (MD BlueCross BlueShield - PPO - Small Company) will not cover my gastric bypass and I am going to have to pay for it myself. I have been going to a Doc in DC, but thought I would check out Dr. Halmi and his practice and hospital charges. Any information from his patients would be helpful! How long from seeing the doc to surgery for most of you? Thank you!
