Has anyones body rejected the staples? What kind of metal is it?

I just thought about this question. After my Ex left me I kinda went on a wild and crazy binge. I got my nipples pierced. LOL please don't ask me what I was thinking...anyhow my body rejected the ring that was in...and started to well I'll spare you the details. It could have been from many things, infection or the fact that piercings we not meant to go there...etc..but what if it was from the metal..could this happen with wls?? Any info or thoughts would be great. Thanks
