Am I missing something?
I've been reading where people are substituting No-Sugar Added Carnation Instant Breakfast for protein shakes. The nutrition information on the back of the envelope says it's got 4 g of protein. Mixing it with 1 cup of milk adds 8 g, resulting in a total of 12 grams of protein, most of which comes from milk. Protein shakes (the ones I make, anyway) have at least twice that much protein. I'm all in favor of CIB; I drink it as a snack, but I'm concerned that some people (and apparently, even some surgeons!) consider it a better source of protein than it is. Adding it to milk does provide SOME vitamins and SOME protein, but in my non-professional opinion, it's a side dish, not the main course.
