For Post-Op women: Is your period longer now?

Hi all, At 8 months post-op I've noticed that for the last 2 months my period lasts twice as long as it use to. All my life it was four days... two medium, two very light. Now it's over twice that long, and fairly heavy (sorry.. I hope there are no guys reading this :-) Any ideas why? Or is it an age thing since I'm now forty? Thanks!
