Has anyone ever experienced anything unusual happening to their hair after surgery

Lately one part of my hair (the top back part) has been stringy and almost dirty feeling. (not sure how else to describe this). I have tried everything; switching shampoos, not using conditioners, using shampoos that remover build up, etc. Nothing seems to be working. So I was wondering if this is somehow related to the surgery I had. (Open RNY) Any suggestions or help with this would be greatly appreciated.
