womens clothing sizes

I asked this question before but never saw it so forgive me if it pops up twice. I know this is a silly question but I'm not sure what the difference between womens sizes and "normal" sizes. I am wearing size 16W and some 14W so what is that in the so called normal sizes? I still buy my clothes from plus size shops but I really would love to buy from cool places like Old Navy, ect. but I dont know what size to get. Thanks for the help on this.
