1/2/03- Well yesterday was oh so good. I went to the gym for 2 hours and just worked my booty off. I had so much fun. Since being in Mobile,Ala last week I did not get to go to the gym. I really missed my workouts. After I went to the gym I went walking around the track for three miles with my 18 yr old sister. I was so tired when I got home. I have that burn in my body after a good workout and I feel so great. I got on the scale this morning and the scale reads 204. 101 pound loss since 6-6-02. Life is so good. I hope everyone is doing well. I am praying for WLS insurance approvals and uneventful surgeries and speedy recoveries. I LOVE YOU ALL.

12/31/02 - Happy New Years - I just literally walked in the door from my trip from Mobile, AL. I had a great time seeing family. They were so shocked at my transformation and very pleased with the outcome. I am very saddened to say that I have a cousin who is 12 years old and is now wearing 18/20 and weighs 200 pounds. I tried to talk to her mother in a non threatening way, but there was no getting through to her. It saddens me very much to look at the pain and suffering she is going through and not be able to do anything to help her. Her mother is also obese and has the attitude that I once had. That there is nothing wrong with being obese and she is fine the ay she is. I know she is not. She can't run, breath, or function the way every other child her age does. I know they make fun of her at school and it just kills me that her mother is doing nothing, but accepting it as the be all end all answer. Oh well. I will not give up. The great news is that I have officially lost 100 pounds and am now part of the century club. I am so happy to say that I have lost 100 pounds since June 6, 2002. NO ONE IN MOBILE, AL HAD A SCALE. I RAN IN HERE TO WEIGH WHEN I GOT HOME.LOL. I weighed 305 June 6, 2002 and as of December 31, 2002 205. I bought skirts and shirts in size 14 while gone and life could not be peachier.I did not get under 200 by the end of December 2002 as I wanted, but I did make it to the century club. I LOVE YOU ALL.

The responses below are in reponse to a question asked on the Q&A board by Nicole C. I just wanted to clear this up before the hate mail starts after reading my surgery page. I am not a mean person and said what I said to her out of honesty and the hopes of assiting and answering her question. You people can be really irrational at times, so I am just keeping you all updated on what happened. If the email would have been read thourhly she would have seen I was not being mean, but honest. Take care. : Surgery Reversal Question: If I get this surgery and for some reason am not satisfied, can I have it undone? I have been researching this and I think most of my questions have been answered except can the RNY be undone if for some reason I change my mind. - Nicole C : Surgery Reversal Question: If I get this surgery and for some reason am not satisfied, can I have it undone? I believe we were all being honest and open and thourgh with our information. We have had the surgery already and by no means are experts, but we do know what we know and you asked and we answered. We just wanted you to know the hard facts. There are some people who are under the impression that this is like a light switch and you can turn it on and off and it is just not so. You could have written me to my personal email and not my surgery page and made it look like I was just really evil answering your question if you felt like I was being mean to you. I was merely answering your question. This is the last time I will ever answer a question on the Q&A board. I wish you well and good luck with whatever you decide to do. - Teena Adler 12/22/02: You all didn't have to jump on me I am only in the researching stage I don't know what I want to do yet that's why I am asking questions. My goodness!! - Nicole C 12/22/02: I saw your post and I was not going to respond because I did not want to upset you or make you mad, but I kept looking at it and I had to say something. Do not be offended. This is a MAJOR LIFE CHANGING OPERATION. Some people die during this surgery and some people have majjor complications afterward. Not trying to scare these are just the realities of this and any kind of surgery. This is not something you take litely. I spent six years researching WLS before I finally made my mind up to do it. My health was getting worse and the risk of surgery were better than the risk I was given with my health problems so I went for it. I decided to do it ONLY AFTER HAVING MAJOR KNOWLEDGE OF WLS. Yes, in some cases surgery can be reversed, but if you are going into this with the thought that you are not going to like it DON"T DO IT. After surgery your insides will never be the same again if they have to reverse it. You will be functional, but there is no telling what affects you will have after being reveresed. DO NOT HAVE THIS SURGERY UNTIL YOU ARE SURE. PLEASE JUST WAIT IF YOU ARE NOT SURE. I wish you well and please people who read this and think I am being mean DO NOT SEND ME HATE MAIL. I am not being mean. Just being honest. If you need to talk about this please feel free to contact me. I am more than happy to try to calm your fears or share my knowledge and strentgh with you. - Teena Adler 12/22/02: Nicole, I am sorry that you feel like we were jumping down your throat. Teena, I appreciate you responding to my question, but really there was no need to jump down my throat. I am only in the RESEARCHING stage. That's why I am asking questions. I don't know what I want to do yet. So you ask questions for answers not to get beat up on. Thanx again for the info.
