Cathy, hope things clear up soon and you're feeling better.

I'm working 3 nights this week so I have a harder time sticking to a food routine, but I'm concentrating on good choices.

Today's plan:

B: Protein bar

L: Deli turkey and a salad

D: Pork chop, small sweet potato

S: Apple with almond butter

Have a good day.

Hi Kathy,  Sorry about your infections.  Does not sound fun!  Hope you feel better soon.  I am 6 weeks out from RNY.  Doing well.  Not working at this time so easy to deal with food as keep only healthy foods at home.

For me, today will be arthritis swim at the Y, with water walking.  I haven't started walking outdoors yet because our winter will not let go, there was snow yesterday.

LOL at your poor dog.

I agree with you about going to the gym is as much fun as going to the dentist - LOVE that!

I'm glad that you had the IV iron.  That is good to know.  I've had issues with iron and have considered the IV iron.

Sorry if this is TMI....Since having my knee surgery, I've had infections.  My lower legs have a waxy build up and I have infection issues.  I went to my eye doctor yesterday and I have a bacterial infection on my eye lids.  I'm going to an appointment Friday morning with my PCP.  The win with this situation is that I'm not emotionally eating as I would have in the past.

Eats:

B - Coffee

L - 2 scrambled eggs with chopped veggies

D - Turkey Meatloaf

S - Apple with 1 slice of cheddar cheese

Keep your head in the game to be BOT

Topic: Exercise

I never been a gym gal and being in a room doing exercises with other people sounds as much fun as going to the dentist.

Things that I do like are swimming, walking, and biking.

The IV iron is really kicking in. I was able to walk .625 miles today without being winded. It was at one of my favorite place to walk-the off leash dog park. It was amazing to be able to get back out there.

My poor portly dog has not moved for hours.

OMG guys you all have such wonderful suggestions. I dont know if my nearest Y participates in the silver sneakers but I will find out.I currently have a gym membership through my insurance but if the Y participates I will change because I can't do anything at the current gym. I'm going to try the no grains and see how that is. Thanks guys.

Just to follow up:  the instant I saw this video, I swore off grains and committed to eating no more than 30 net carbs per day.  Guess what?  I'm down 3 pounds in two days.  I have been KILLING myself for a year to try and lose even 1/2 a pound, and in two days without glucose-stimulating carbs, whoosh!  Clearly, I'm one of the "carb intolerant."  It's tough living with a DH who is 160 pounds no matter what he eats.  But, we all have our challenges.  I'm looking forward to seeing what the next few months brings.  Maybe I can actually hit my WLS goal after all.
