Back On Track Together
Yesterday, I fell off the wagon and then it ran over me.
Work is always a dangerous place when it comes to maintaining control of my eating. Yesterday a drug rep brought us lunch, Italian. MMMM! I rarely make it at home because it's a lot of work for one person. I started with the spinach salad w balsamic vinegrette - decent serving, kept the dressing to a minimum. BUT - homemade cheese ravioli. I was careful to trim as much pasta as I could, and the ricotta filling was good. Still under control. And then a small piece of Italian bread w butter to wipe up the sauce from a meatball... yep, you can see me starting to slide. The killer was ginger brownies. I knew I'd already gone too far, so I just turned off my brain and went for it. It was only by some miracle that I didn't dump on the spot and escaped total humiliation. I can rationalize it by saying it was only one day. I only work 1 day a week, not by choice. It was tough even landing this job, since right now nobody wants a 62 year with a limp. I barely survive because I took widow's benefits early.
But we all know that making excuses only leads to one thing. More excuses.
So I'm confessing it here. TOTALLY blew it yesterday. Now I am going to stop whipping myself and spend the day eating right.

I think that wagon has run over my butt often If you are still dumping then yes be careful. Just a suggestion if you had notice of the lunch maybe you could have goggled healthy italian choices.
You understand what when wrong and where so next time try to avoid the pitfalls. But we are only human. Job wise I so understand. I am 55 and my husband had a stroke almost a year ago, lost his job cut our income by 2/3's and trying to find a part time night job just to make ends meet. No one wants me
Hang in there and we are here for you!!!!!
Take care,
kathy

Hi Jan:
We have all been hit with that wagon. I wish someone would break the wheel axle off of it. I have looked pizza in the eye and walked away, just to pick up the bowl of cheesy pasta and a breadstick. Yesterday has past, today is a new day and who knows what tomorrow will bring. Have a great day!

Glad u saw the light and came out of the fog. Been there done that too many times. Hope to fall a little less often in the future.
Seems like all of us have had to learn to work with a little less due to death or health problems of a DH. I'm 58 now and took early retirement 4 years ago due to my husband having a stroke. We were use to much and have learned to live with a little. Wishing u success for the rest of your day.

With I will succeed.
