Late Night Grazing

I'm out 5 years since my RNY.  Lost 143lbs. Life is/was grand.  Since bottoming out I've gained back 50 lbs.  Putting the brakes on before I crash.  With some good, honest introspection I think my biggest pitfall contributing to this potential downfall is the 9pm and later munchies.  Ice cream, cake, chips, etc.  My consumption during the day is generally good although I'm taking a good hard look at that too.  ( Go to Livingstrong.com and check out "The Daily Plate". It's awesome.  Yes, I know, don't keep it in the house.  It's the compulsive psychological garbage I'm tussling with.  Little help out there?

Peace, Ray

Thanks for sharing Ray.  You can do it!!  Doing a food diary is a good start for sure.  I battle with grazing after 9 also.  I finally have it some what under control.  I say some what because I gave up saying no eating after 9 because I could not do it.  So now I am very careful about what I eat after nine and how many calories.

My limit is 200 calories and something healthy and protein is the best option for me.  I log my calories on myfitnesspal.com.

Congrats on putting on the breaks at 50 pounds!!   Keep using OH.com and do whatever it takes to reach your goals.  I did the same thing in March.  I put the breaks on and so far I am down 20 of the 80 pounds I had gained back over a 3 year period.

You can get BOT!!!  There is awesome support here and several good forums and groups. Use BOTT group and OH.com!

 Mollie,

You are a blessing to me.  If I can offer you encouragement when you need it, you can count on me.

Peace,  Ray

I confess i am a late night grazer.  I am a year and 3 months out and i lost 75 lbs the first 6 months, the next 6 months i lost 6 lbs and have not been able to loose.  I go to support groups and one of the things that the nutritionist told me there is to try my left over protein shakes for those late night  munchies.  the thought of that shake for most of us again is hell and if you are really hungry it will satisfy that hunger.  just thought i would share that little tip..............it has really aided for me getting back on track.
