How I Turned My Day Around

So it´s been a dark, dreary day today. Rainy and ugly and for no reason at all I´ve been feeling sort of down. It´s almost 3 in the afternoon- and I hadn´t had a real meal all day. I had a protein shake in the morning which is what I usually do. But then I got hungry and ate some of my daughter´s leftover bread. And then I went to the kitchen about 5 times and got some cheese to nibble on at each visit. And some crackers and soda... And as I was munching away, I logged into my email and found a newsletter from a support group I belong to. One of the articles was entitled "What Your Bariatric Surgeon Forgot to Tell You
That Will Cause Weight Gain" I read the article, especially the section on eating slider foods and grazing, looked down at my cracker and asked myself "WHAT ARE YOU DOING???!"
I dropped the food instantly, walked (sort of ran) into the kitchen and made myself some cheesy eggs. Finally a real protein dish. I´m sated, not hungry at all, and in a half hour I´ll have my glass of water.
Sometimes I lose focus. I forget what my cardinal rules should be. But I´m learning not to kick myself over the mistakes. Instead I´m talking stock and making immediate changes.
And that is how I turned my day around
Good day to all of you!

Marisa,

Thanks for sharing that; I needed it! It's so easy for me to fall back into grazing when I'm down. I need to remember to be vigilant because eating poorly only makes me feel worse!
