Sounds Good! Love 5 Guys!
Girls took us to Burgatory for Father's Day. I got the kids 2 mini burger meal and I could only eat one plus a few of the chips. Decided not to even take the 2nd one home. Had a couple sips of DD's Carmel/pretzel milkshake...YUM.

WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!! AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!! THEY ARE ADDICTING!! THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!! THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.
Success in Maintenance starts with GOOD CHOICES during the Honeymoon Period.
I feel I need to repeat this: I am a FIRM believer in Good Whey Protein Drinks!!!!! It is sooooo much harder to do Maintenance without them!
Afternoon LW's!!! Great Weekend of Swimming and Picnicking with DD's and Grandkids.

A new home....that's exciting! We've been in our home 34 years and although we love it we wish we would have torn it down and started over. We wanted the property (no regrets there) and decided to remodel the whole house. Still working on it 34 years later. The next move we make will be to our youngest DD's or a Nursing home.
I do love carbs!! It's a constant battle and most times I win but there are those days I just can't stop but I don't beat myself up. It usually balances out at the end of the month. I could probably be 5 pounds lighter without the carbs but I've been this weight for 6 years and I'd have to buy new clothes if I decided to loose any....lol.
On carby days add in a few extra "good" Proteins.

Hi,
Thanks for posting your thoughts. Many times I have felt like this as well. I am 5'4" and weigh 220. When I went for the internist appointment, he asked me (twice) if I was pre-op or post-op. I felt really uncomfortable and he tried to talk me out of the surgery. He told me the patient he had before me was twice my bmi. You know, I don't think I need to justify why I need this surgery, even if my bmi is below 40. I have two co-morbidities. I have been referred by a doctor and followed all of the "rules" to qualify for the surgery. Still waiting to hear when I will meet with the surgery and waiting for a surgery date. Sometimes it's frustrating, but I feel like I have been waiting all my life for this.

I also worried that I was doing the wrong thing by jumping straight to the bypass without trying the balloons (something my doc is doing) or doing the band...but I started having reflux in the last year and they told me the bypass was best for that, so that's why I chose it. I'll admit I'm indulging today, but I think I'm ready and hope that I can keep myself busy enough this upcoming week to get through the pre-op diet successfully. Keep me posted on your progress - it looks like you had to start a pre-op diet sooner than I did. The 26th will be here soon!
You are my twin. 5'3'' 201lbs at my initial surgeons consult. I am having VSG on Monday June 26th. We can be battle buddies. I know it is the right thing for me to do. I have to get the band out of my body but know I will eat out of control with no restriction. We can do this and will be much healthier a year from now.

Lap band 5/2010 lost 37 lbs regain 22.
5/19/17 Surgery consult 201.6 lbs
6/15/17 approved by insurance(started liquid diet) 194.7lbs
6/28/17 Surgery weight 184.4
I'm right there with you at 5' 2" and 200 lbs which no one believes. My surgery is scheduled for 6/26 and as I start my liquid pre op diet tomorrow I wonder if I'm doing the right thing. I've been fighting this fight for 30 years and I don't want to spend the next 30 years being frustrated with putting in the effort for little results.
Roz, I need your comment about carbs tattooed on both hands although I'm not a tattoo person. I took Thursday and Friday as personal days. This is first time I've been able to have a paid day off. Here it is Saturday evening and only one day left of my mini vacation.
Thursday we went to look at a new home. We found just what we want and have put down a deposit. DH had an accident while we were out so that kind of ruined the day. We had viewed a townhouse and were walking back to the office when he fell face down on the pavement. Fortunately, a young man drove by, stopped and helped him up and walked him back to the office. He's really banged up but nothing broken.
This morning we went to our granddaughter's dance recital dress rehearsal. We prefer going down during the day rather than deal with the crowd at night. Of course, she was fabulous. :)
I have been taking Vita Fusion vitamins and B12 gummies for months. I can't seem to get rid of the itching around my jawline and neck. I looked at the ingredients and they are processed in a plant that processes soy......:( So, that may be the problem. I have ordered bariatric vitamins from Amazon for delivery Monday.
Eats today:
Scone
Protein bar
Beef hotdog
Tuna casserole (very little bit.....just don't like tuna); salad
Cereal/milk - supposed to help me sleep
