Even when I was a skinny mini I had C cups, I'm a little fascinated by the tiny bumps on my chest wall! I think post mastectomy I had bumps larger than this because of a combination of swelling and the framework they implanted in the same surgery. When I had the mastectomy the inserted inflatable packs to stretch out my peck muscles, and using the cadaver tissue were able to partially inflate them prior to my even waking up. Then when I had the implants removed (my body decided to calcify around them making my implants look like a cubist designed them!) I woke up with my belly fat inserted so again, always have had SOMETHING like breasts... Now I have these little sad flappy things!

Also, you are AMAZING at walking the walk. I use your experience/advice ALL THE TIME when I'm justifying what looks like too little calories to friends and family. I'm like "dude, I'm not even CLOSE to what most successful losers advise, I should be eating no more than 600 calories per day and always getting in my protein. I'm not even close!"

The vets here tout over and over the merits of reducing carbs and I've really taken that to heart. I know that the NUTs are generally not on the same page. I will say though, I eat very low carb and I've not had a week yet without loss and I'm 5 months out. No stalls, nothing.

One of the vets said something to someone else about never being able to have more willpower or be more compliant to the best weight loss plan than those first months and that's stuck with me.

My exercise is more about getting strong and fit, but yeah, I admit it FEELS like it should HELP with the calories burned part, no? All of my goals are fitness related, although CLEARLY I'm focusing on the one empirical measure we can all see, that damn number on the scale!!!

I realized this week that some of my weight loss stall is likely due to my going off the water pill I'd been taking for my high blood pressure. Suddenly my ankles are a little puffy - so I'm sure I'm retaining more water now that I'm off that pill.

Yes, too many carbs. Not horrible carbs, like today I ate half an apple. I am generally able to avoid junk food carbs and usually my sugar is low, but fresh fruit and various veggies have been hard for me to quit. Also things like beans that are technically protein foods but still have significant carbs. It's so weird how what qualifies as "healthy food" changes post surgery!!!!

I will eat pineapple and watermelon, both foods my NUT recommended to me to increase my fluid intake. I don't eat a ton of either, but they're showing up weekly in my food diary.

WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!! AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!! THEY ARE ADDICTING!! THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!! THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.

Success in Maintenance starts with GOOD CHOICES during the Honeymoon Period.

I feel I need to repeat this: I am a FIRM believer in Good Whey Protein Drinks!!!!! It is sooooo much harder to do Maintenance without them!

Morning LW's! Thank You for the encouragement concerning my Hospital stay this past weekend. I'm anxious to see my PCP tomorrow morning. I knew my Cholesterol totals were rising a few years ago but I guess I need to take it seriously now. I am going to figure this! I want to be healthy but I've got to figure out how to keep the scales in my "Normal" range. I decided to look at my BMI again and do you know if I was 1/2" shorter I would be considered Obese!!! The older I get the shorter I get. I have a lot of loose skin on my belly, arms and legs. I'm sure that counts for part of reason for the number on the scale.
