Topic: RE: Menus and Miles Sunday July 9th

A very hot Sunday in Kansas City but it is July in Missouri. I did go in the garage and went thru my Christmas decorations. Managed to eliminate one tub which I used to pack fabric in. So far, I have 2 tubs of fabric packed. I'm going to have the movers take them. Better for them to carry them than me. I've gone thru all my quilting magazine and will take the ones I don't want to guild this month.

Nine years ago today I had my RNY. Wasn't so sure it was a good thing that evening.

Sorry to hear about your hubby. That had to be really scary for him and your DD. My rash has cleared up. I looked at a bunch of protein bars and all but Quest either added soy or are processed in a plant that processes soy. The new Quest Hero bars taste really good but are just too high in sugar for me. Even half a bar makes me feel yucky. I'm going to try some of the recipes I have for protein bar.

Today's eats:

Premier Protein (30 grams)

Luna bar

Click shake (16)

Pork loin, 1/2 potato, carrots

Low carb ice cream

Little low on protein.

Thanks for asking about me!!! Overwhelmed with Grandkids and Work for awhile there. End of the fiscal and DD had to go away and do a cheer camp.

I'm really sorry you are having an allergic reaction to something. I hope you can figure it out. I tried soy snacks at the beginning but them made my stomach hurt. I've always been a boring eater so I basically eat the same foods all of the time. If I stray away I seem to make bad decisions. I fear Protein bars!!! Even after 8+ years I am really sensitive to sugar (and fats). I get the "I'm going to pass out" syndrome when I've had to much of it. That really keeps me check.

DH ended up in the emergency room last week trouble breathing, his eyes swelled shut and hives all over his body. He was out riding around the neighborhood fields (same area as always) and he didn't think he was going to make it home. I couldn't leave work and DD lives close by so I called her to go and get him. Still not sure what he got into but now he has one of those EPI pens that he carries with him. It was pretty scary for him and DD.

Gotta run! Have an Awesome Sunday!!

WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!! AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!! THEY ARE ADDICTING!! THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!! THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.

Success in Maintenance starts with GOOD CHOICES during the Honeymoon Period.

I feel I need to repeat this: I am a FIRM believer in Good Whey Protein Drinks!!!!! It is sooooo much harder to do Maintenance without them!

Afternoon LW's!!! DH and I are having a nice quiet day at home. No Grandkids today so DH is mowing the grass and I'm going to trim my rose bushes....two of favorite things! Planned our meals for the week and stopped on the way home from Church for a few groceries. I'll pick the rest up through the Walmart pick-up this afternoon. I do soooo much better when I plan!

Afternoon LW's!!! I haven't bought any new clothes lately and Macy's had a big sale on the so I ordered some new tops. The order came today and a few things were too big so they have to go back. I don't understand when you buy certain brands why they don't all fit the same when they are the same style. DH just doesn't understand why I buy online instead of going to the store to try things on. After getting some things that don't fit I don't know why either....LOL.

Basketball games and now heading to our family reunion.

Roz, how are you? I was here a few days ago and there had been no postings from you so I wondered if you were having problems.

I'm not posting my menu for today. I started the day scratching a rash around my neck and jawline and I didn't do well tracking my eats. I'm so tired of this stuff. This has been going on since March. It will clear up and then overnight it's back. Last night I had some popcorn so I'm wondering if I'm allergic to corn.

Soy is a huge problem and even though it's not an added ingredient, many, many products are processed in a plant where soy is processed. I'm really having to read ingredient labels closely. So many protein bar have soy. Quest does not; however, the new Quest Hero bars have too much sugar for me. I'm not really fond of their original bars. Even half a bar leaves me with that sickening feeling you get when you have too much sugar.

This week I switched from almond milk to Fair Life milk. I'm wondering if the milk is causing the problem too. I'm scheduling an appointment with an allergist asap.

Guess I need to make my snack so I know what's in them.

Congrats for being smart enough to have your WLS while you are young enough to enjoy it!! With your youth probably comes more elasticity in your skin than those of us who had surgery when we were in our 40's and over. I lost a lot of weight on WW when I was in my late 30's and even though I was pretty heavy my skin bounced back pretty good.

You'll be so excited about your weight loss and the loose skin might not bother you at all.
