Hello LWs! It is so hot. My car was 102 degrees when I got in. Our AC isn't working very well and the kitchen and living room are hot. We have a ceiling fan and a box fan. It's 86 degrees and the thermostat is set on 76. If we turn it down, it gets too cold downstairs and in the bedrooms. Since we're moving, complaining to the rental manager would be useless. The owner certainly won't check it out.
Monday morning there was a huge portion of a tree on the driveway. DH was able to move it to the back of the driveway so we could get out. Our garages are in back. The mess is still out there although he called the manager Monday. I'm so anxious to move.
Tomorrow I see my PCP. I will talk to her about my ra**** has cleared up since I quit drinking milk last week. I was looking at the file online and noticed a pre-diabetic diagnoses last year. No one told me about that so I wonder if it's an error. I didn't have diabetes before WLS.
Today's eats:
Click shake (16 grams)
Protein bar (20 grams)
Taco salad with meat & cheese; mango salsa
Premier Protein Clear - (20 grams)
Laughing Cow; 34 degree crackers
Roast pork; carrots
Click frozen bites for evening snack

I started posting here in 2008 prior to surgery. I've always had the same site name. I mainly posted on the Missouri board but the woman that kept it going moved to Puerto Rio or some country and people quit posting.

I'm sorry I have been missing. DH has been having a hard time. We go to another Neurosurgeon tomorrow.
The last DR. (a nerve Dr. I think) we went to wrote "failed surgery" on the script. We are anxious to see if this Surgeon agrees with all of the tests.
He has been having very realistic dreams. He says none of his meds have changed. Last night I heard a crash and he was laying on the floor with blood on his nose and back. Our double mirrored sliding closet door was completed crashed. There was glass all over the floor. He spent the day cleaning up the mess and I spent the day worrying about what is going on.

WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!! AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!! THEY ARE ADDICTING!! THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!! THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.
Success in Maintenance starts with GOOD CHOICES during the Honeymoon Period.
I feel I need to repeat this: I am a FIRM believer in Good Whey Protein Drinks!!!!! It is sooooo much harder to do Maintenance without them!

If you find the perfect Protein bar let me know.....I think I'm dreaming! I only eat the Nature Valley Roasted Nut Crunch Bars. Nuts and Seeds with a glaze on them. They only have 6 grams of protein but the nuts really satisfy me and fill me up.
9 years....whoo hoo!!!!

Nine years ago today was my day for WLS. The first few days I questioned if it was the right thing to do, but I did come to be very happy with my decision. The first year I lost 70 pounds. Instead of forging ahead and losing another 20 lbs., I didn't work at it. I was so happy to shop in the misses department and being off all my meds except thyroid.
That first year I was so careful about what I ate, but eventually, I made bad choices here and there. I maintained my loss for several years but I did have some regain in the last 2 years. I'm working on getting off those extra pounds. We're moving next month so I went thru my closet and all but 2 or 3 garments still fit. Pants I bought in 2009 still fit and I'm proud of that.
I still don't do well in a restaurant. I've never been a fan of fast food so that's never a problem. I tend to order what sounds really good and after a few bites I'm full. Then, I will overeat and feel miserable. I still eat too fast.
Fortunately, sugar makes me sick, but at times I eat too many sweets and pay for it. I cook for my husband and adult son. Much of the time I don't take the time to make things I like and need to eat. I eat what they eat but less of it. I'm working on taking better care of myself in that regard.
I've never had any regrets after the first 4 days. If I could lose another 20 lbs., I would have the surgery again. I need to lose 10 lbs. to get back where I was 8 years ago and would like to take off another 20 lbs.
