Caught a glimpse

This weekend DSD came to take care of me because DH had a meeting in Mexico.  She got engaged on Valentines Day.  So since I had a little bit of energy we made an appointment at a bridal shop and she tried on gowns to her hearts content.  I got to sit in a chair and drink water so it was a win win.  But, there are freaking mirrors everywhere in a bridal shop.  I caught a glimpse of myself and noticed that I have really lost some weight and I didn't cringe at my reflection for the first time in a long time.  Im looking pretty good.   It was a great day!  As soon as I have a little more strength, I'm hitting those thrift stores and consignment stores.  My "skinny" clothes are hanging.

You are going to look awesome for the wedding. Don't forget to shop for a nice dress for yourself. Wait until you are 3-4 weeks from the wedding to actually buy it. You are going to change so fast your brain won't be able to keep up.

It is really nice to have this NSV after all your health issues.

Yep, it gets better and better.  I still do more shopping at thrift stores than real stores.  I am so cheap.  DH used to stay I was so tight I squeeked when I walked.

congratulations on your daughter's engagement! That is one thing that I wish I could have had the surgery before I did. I hate the family pictures of my daughter's weddings. The only good thing will be that my son being 19 I will have his wedding photos that I will enjoy.

Keep up on tha****er and food and I'm so glad you have help. Enjoy the process, weddings can be so much fun!

Tonya, that's an awesome NSV.

I agree about waiting til just prior to the wedding to get your dress...who knows what size you will be by then.

I was trying on dresses this weekend for my first cruise. It is AMAZING to be able to see yourself and not cringe. I am so happy you had this moment!!!

It is odd how mirrors make you feel.  Sometimes still when I see myself in a window or mirror, I have a hard time realizing that it is me.  That adjustment has been a long time coming.

Congratulations on a great NSV.  I'm so glad you are feeling up to getting out and drinking/eating now.
