I signed up for a personal trainer and things have been great.  It's pricey I thought but worth it.

Well I just got a call to say that my hour long session with the trainer should only have been for half and hour!

Naturally I can't find my paperwork that I signed although I'll continue to look for it.  I'm paying $160 per month for 3 months. (one session a week)

My free first session was an hour long so I had no reason to think a session was for half an hour.  The trainer has been training me for an hour, but apparently she was pulled aside and told that she was only supposed to be training me for half an hour.

Is $40 for a half hour session normal?  I'm really disappointed in this because I was going to extend the training to six months but I'm not doing it if it's only for 30 mins.  That's no time at all!

Really annoyed, that I didn't catch this to begin with and that I can't find the damn paperwork.

Hope you find the paperwork. I know around here the trainers post their rates for 30 minute intervals.
I have found their prices from around 18 to 20 dollars for 30 minute sessions. More at one gym where body builders work out at.

Unfortunately, that's about the price for 1/2 an hour at the exercise place I belong to.  It's a big reason why I have yet to sign up.

Ask if THEY have a copy of the contract you signed. My gym's customer service is also not very good so I wouldnt trust them. If they cannot find paperwork stating that the traning sessions are a half hour I would politely explain that you had the understanding that they were for an hour and this was on your contract. I wish you luck. I HATE dealing with stuff like this.

Yeah, see that's what's bothering me on top of the fact I'm cut back to half an hour. They charged me $160 on Jan 26 (when I signed up for three months) and they lopped another $160 off me on the 15th. So far I've had three one hour sessions which were supposed to be half hour apparently and $320 has been taken out of my account.

I hate having to deal with this **** when I was so content. I will have to ask them for a copy of the contract I signed tomorrow.

It's hard enough to mentally try and change your outlook to be active and excercise without all this **** going on.

I aso signed up for personal training and didn't realize it was for thirty minutes since the first session was one hour.  But at $40 a pop I think that's normal here for 30 minutes.  My complaint is that the personal trainer assigned to me left and they haven't given me a new trainer (not that I've asked) but they are still charging me!

I need to get off my ass and go complain.

About 4 years ago I had a trainer for a year long, 3 times a week, 30 minutes sessions.  It  was pricey $$$.  I took a little notepad with me and wrote down all of the machines, weights and reps.  So once you learn the machines etc. you can do this on your own without a trainer - trust me.  Some girls at the gym have taken me under their wings and I'm training with them as a group now.  It's a lot of fun and much harder work out than I've ever done.  I love it.  So look around the gym at some girls you admire and makes some friends.

I took my son today and trained HIM with the stuff I'd learned so far, lol.

You are right, and I will manage without her at the end of the three months.  It has been helpful becuase she has helped me with form and she also has shown me how much more I could do and harder than I could work than if I'd done it on my own. So I am grateful for that.

BTW, your new pic looks great!  How is your skin coping so far?  My skin is a little loose on my face, I think, but that may just be age!
