3 years post op and switching boards

Good Morning all and Good Morning Gina!!! thought i would just pop in and say hello.... I have a question.... I have been having bad gas, and stomach pains and heart burn for the last 2 years. it is not diet related I have been at this for a while and i have figured out what and will not set my tummy off but what may or may not hurt this time isn't always true the next time... I eat only wheat pasta, and gluten free rice but sometimes it is a killer!!

I started taking Omeprazole about a week ago and it is working pretty good, but it says you can only take 14 days at a time... who here uses this and for how long... I would ask my surgeon BUT that is a story for another day.. I welcome any help, this is really working my last borrowed nerve!!

Good news Gina, my babies, ( the twin boys) turned 16 yesterday.... I knew they were getting older but yesterday was almost as hard as their 1st birthday... well for me anyway... it honestly does not seem like 16 years... the three of us were talking and they would ask me questions and i could answer them all from their first steps to the day I brought them home form the hospital... ( their father left 1 month after they were born)... but hey that is okay I had my boys!!! James (hubs) has been there for them for the last 9 years and they tell him all the time that they are upset that he isn't the Bio father but i swear I am not sure that they could be any closer to him of he was...

I use Omeprazole every day and have since my surgery 9/20/10.  I went without it for 2-3 days and starting having stomach issues.  It works for me and my surgeon doesn't have a problem with me continuing to use it.  I had the RNY, not the DS though.

I've been taking it since surgery 4.5 months ago.  I got it via doctor's prescription because it is cheaper that way. 

My son will be 15 on the 12th.  He is great, but I do miss the days when I was his whole world and he would come up and snuggle me.  Guess those days are gone. 

Been taking daily for the past 10 months and I expect to be on it for the foreseeable future. Neither my surgeon or my PCP seems to have any issues with it.

I am going to talk to PCP when I go and get him to write a script for it... thanks!

I think that your product is the same as Protonix.  I started taking Protonix 2x a day almost two years ago without any ill effects to my Sleevie.  I've just stopped in the last few weeks to see how I'll do without it.  So far so good, but I have it for backup in case I feel the acid kicking in again.

Omeprazole is Prilosec.  Protonix is very similar, another PPI.

Yesterday was my mom's birthday too. :)  My oldest just turned 29 Saturday :( Can you believe it? Your boys are awesome--I've seen pictures. lol  Happy birthday to them.
