I am going in for a revision on thursday for various reasons....

What can I reasonably expect to lose within the next 5 months?  I know when I had the lap band I lost about 70 pounds than....lost the other 20 over about 5 months after that and maintained for quite some time...(see my other posts as to my regain of 30ish pounds)  ....

I have 60 pounds to go now....what do you all think my time frame will be???

What are you revising to? Will you have a malabsorptive WLS or another restrictive only surgery? Regardless, wishing you all the best.

We are all so different and the different surgeries will affect your loss also.  It is really hard to determine what you will lose how fast.  I would be surprised if you don't lose at least half of it in 5 months.  Most lightweights reach goal in around a year.  it goes slower, further out.

Welcome and keep us informed about your progress.

Good luck Thursday.  What type of surgery are you having?  We all lose so different that it is hard to even guess what you will lose.

Keep us updated on your progress.

I know everybody is different, but I only had about 60 lbs to lose too.  I was about 190 at surgery and now I'm 146, a little past 5 months out.  And I consider myself a slow loser.

Good luck to you, and we'll see you on the loser's bench!

Oh and as a biologist/ I did more than my research on the topic before I had the band and I did quite well with it until the altitude of the Alps killed it for me....literally....

I have done my research and have most of my information....I never looked up death rates until this week however.....and that freaked me out....I guess being a widow has enhanced my fear a bit..but it is something we all experience to some degree....I freaked out the firs ttime I was supposed to have the band....and than had it 6 months later....I do get nervous as no one really does know when your card will be called.....I just dont want mine to be called yet.....

What I wanted from here was primary resource information.....
