I'm sick
Yesterday I had 2 bites of chicken from a can and it felt stuck. So I stopped eating. A little while later the stuck feeling went away so I had soup. I was a little nauseous but no too bad. That was lunch. At dinner, I had some chicken wings which I took all the ski off. There was just enough sauce to flavor it. I was still hungry a little while later so I had 4 oz of tomato soup. I felt ok not great. went to bed with a grumbly tummy. I woke up 2 and started throwing up. Still throwing up now it's 7:15. I called the Dr. And he said give it an hour or so. If I'm still throwing up come to the ER. I guess I'm off to the ER if I don't feel better soon. I've thrown up twice since talking to the Dr.
Anybody have insight? Gastritis? Stricture? The only questionable thing was the chicken wings. I really made sure the sauce was at the bare minimum. I guess I should have skipped them.

Glad you called the doc. Keep us posted. Feel better.

Glad you are following up with medical care. You are early enough out that you want to catch problems before they get bad.
There are some horrible bugs around here these days so it could be something like that and not related to what or when you ate at all.
Some folks do ok with a food, then the next time have problems. Not sure that any food is "safe" for the first few months.
A few suggestions that may or may not have a thing to do with what is going on but to stick in your basket of RNY knowledge.
1) moist meat goes down better than dry
2) tomato soup has a lot of sugar
3) papaya enzymes are great when it seems you have something stuck
4) sometimes grumpy tummies just need rest and low fat, sugar, fiber, stuff. Some folks find sticking with protein drinks works when their tummy is irritated or something like yogurt.
It is all a matter of getting to know your pouch and it can take a while. Don't beat yourself up about any of it. Chances are you didn't cause it or couldn't have prevented it.

Thank you for all the support. Price, thank you for your words of encouragement. I was feeling terribly guilt. I haven't thrown up in almost 2 hours. I'm going to, very slowly, sip some water and see if it stays down. If it does not I'm off to the ER for sure. That's going by Drs recommendation. Hopefully it is nothing more than my pouch showing me whose boss. Or a stomach bug. If I go to the ER I will let you know the outcome. It might help someone else later on.
Thanks,
Tonya

I hope you are feeling better now. It is possible that you have the flu. I remember getting the flu really bad early out and I rarely get the flu. I think my resistant was done from the surgery and not eating much.
Usually dumping on sugar only lasts a few hours and I've never really thrown up by it. I just got really tired and shaky.
I do throw up when something gets stuck but you should have a tight feeling not just an upset pouch. I've had scrambled eggs get stuck for over 24 hours and then had to force myself to throw up.
Keep us updated!

When I have had something stuck, drinking afterwards often makes it worse. Not sure how much time you had between the food being stuck and then switching over to soup but that may have contributed to the pain/vomiting as well. When I was early out and had something stuck and expeienced the foamies I would only eat things later that day that I knew went down okay or stuck to shakes, yogurt, pudding, etc. I think our pouchies sometimes needs a bit of time to heal. Hopefully the nausea has ended...I would have a LIGHT day today to give pouch some time to heal. My dr gave me phenergan to keep at home in case vomiting/nausea occurred. When I ate 1/2 of price's flax muffin recipe it was a phenergan momemt.....the not so funny part is when I took the pill with some liquid I then projectile vomited the whole thing (one of the few times I threw up!). This is a learning curve.....hope you are feeling better son!!!

p.s. chicken wings may be too spicy, fat, dry......who the heck knows but stay clear for awhile.
