Since it is my birthday here are some related questions.
1. Does your family have a special way of celebrating birthdays?
2. Do you feel older than your age or younger?
3. When do you plan on "getting old"?
4. Since WLS, what is your favorite resturant?
1. We go out to dinner but that is about it. All adults here and on big celebrations.
2. Definately younger, even with this bad knee.
3. Never, I hope.
4. I think Mexican. i don't have any problems with fat or cheese and I love the flavors. I always bring home at least another couple of meals of leftovers.

1. Does your family have a special way of celebrating birthdays? No not really, we just usually go out to dinner. Now that we have a daughter we have done birthday parties the last 2 years. So I'm sure we will keep doing birthday parties for my daughter. After all you have to spoil your only child.
2. Do you feel older than your age or younger? I feel younger. I dont feel 30, and I hope I never do.
3. When do you plan on "getting old"? Never, LOL IM going to be 90 and still having fun.
4. Since WLS, what is your favorite restaurant? I love going to New Mexican restaurants. I have been getting green chilie shredded beef enchiladas without tortillas and a side of beans. So lots of protein and just plain yummy. Then the leftovers are just as good as the first time.

1. Does your family have a special way of celebrating birthdays?
Since my kids have grown I always take them out to dinner. My 3 oldest have birthdays within about 3 weeks of each other. My younger son and oldest daughter have birthday's 3 days apart, so I try to take them all out at the same time. They also take me out for my dinner. The grand kids usually have their parties at Chuck E. Cheese or Burger King. Kamiya and Kaci also have birthdays close together and Sophia's is a few weeks after wards so they usually combine them, also. Cassidy's is 6 months later and they usually do Burger King.
2. Do you feel older than your age or younger?
Kind of both. Mostly I feel old because of my health and lack of energy but mentally I see myself as younger and it is always kind of shocking to look in the mirror or see a picture and realize how hold I really am.
3. When do you plan on "getting old"?
As I said, I pretty much feel old. But I am not growing up much. I dress the same way I always have, in jeans and t shirts. I definitely don't dress my age. I like younger clothes, although I go for comfort first. I never wear heels or stockings unless it's a very special occasion. I have been known to wear my kids clothes and they have been known to steal from me, too.
4. Since WLS, what is your favorite restaurant?
My favorite restaurant for over 30 years hasn't changed. It's called Buster's BBQ. I love BBQ and they have the best. I go there at least monthly. I always get the chicken. Maybe a handful of times I have varied from that but not often. My boyfriend always takes me out to dinner for my birthday and we usually go there which makes him happy because they are very reasonable and he tells me I can go anywhere I want. He also takes my daughter out for dinner for her birthday and lets her pick wherever she wants and she spends most of the year choosing and it's usually spendy, like the year she wanted to go to the Melting Pot. I hated that place. She was disappointed, too. For $50 at least they could cook their food.

1. Does your family have a special way of celebrating birthdays? Growing up, it always involved birthday cake and a special dinner. After my surgery, my husband bought me a Sugar Free Cheesecake. YUMMY! I only had a bit, but it was wonderful. This year, we've decided to buy cupcakes - 1 per person. Enjoy every bite & then no leftovers!
2. Do you feel older than your age or younger? MUCH younger. I'm 43 on February 10th. I just adopted a newborn baby boy (11/10/11) and I definitely feel young enough to be his mommy and have all the fun. Surgery helped me with that. Though, I hate buying things for him & having salespeople give me a gift receipt in case the parents need to return it. HE"S MINE! 43 is not that old. LOL!

4. Since WLS, what is your favorite resturant? That's a hard one. I have to say it's the same one it's always been - The Metropolitan Grill in Seattle, WA. Great steaks and the best garlic mashed potatoes you've ever tasted. If you are going to have carbs, have FABULOUS Carbs!

1) We are not consistant on the ways we celebrate. I try to make a big deal of the milestone birthdays. On my 40th birthday we spent a fabulous mini-vacation at Niagara on the Lake.
2) My joints tell me my age, but I definitely feel better with my weight loss. Mentally I feel younger and try not to limit myself to possibilities because of my age.
3) In a way I look forward to being "old." When you're old, you're allowed to dress eccentrically and say what you want, and people think it's allowed because of your age. I'll just have to see when I want to cross that bridge.
4) There's a steakhouse near my house that serves the best prime rib, and I never get tired of it. Next to that, I like crab and lobster; so any place I can get that is great to go to.

I tend to be the driver of birthday celebrations, so mine doesn't get the same level of attention. Always ask the kids if they want to go out for dinner or have a special dinner made at home. It varies as to what we do. The grandkids typically have special places and we go along to those.
2. Do you feel older than your age or younger?
I guess I feel younger, but I don't know what 49 is supposed to feel like. With my weight loss I am trying new things and enjoying new adventures.

Never. Well in the mind set of old. But eccentric .... As soon as the teenagers graduate college. I plan to just shock the heck out of all of the kids, to pay them back for their teenage years.
