I'm finally home!

I got home last night about 7PM. It is snowing here so I didn't want DH to have to contend with rush hour this AM. Surgery went great but my bladder wouldn't wake up. They had to cath me twice. Not fun when you're awake! My tummy has 6 little holes, one side is all sunk in (where they took my stomach out) and I'm black and blue from all the blood thinner shots they gave me. Not the breeze I was expecting but I just kept saying over and over 'It's all going to be worth it'!

Today I did manage to get my protein in but didn't walk near enough. Tomorrow is a new day and I know that with every day it will all get better!

By-the-way - they used the new robot to do part of my surgery. They call him Dr da Vinci.

The worse should be over.  The first few days are tough and I don't think VSG feels much different from RNY in the beginning, the truck that ran over you is about the same size, but each day usually gets better.

Walk, rest, sip, repeat.  All the pretty colors change and go away soon enough.  You are doing great if you are getting in your liquid and protein.  You are well on your way to a new you.

Congrats!  Welcome to the losers bench!  I found room temp and warm liquids easiest in the first few days.  Hope you are up and around soon!
