Haste makes waste

Well I thought I was getting a good deal and trying something new at the same time. I went to walgreens tonight. I was in a hurry as usual. I saw some special K protein shakes on an end cap on sale for 3.99 each or 2 for 7. I didn't read the label BIG mistake. Just thought inexpensive need protein...grabbed them. I got them home and looked at the carb and sugars on the back OMG. I am not sure if I should even try  it. Have any of you tried them? Need to add some protein. Every protein shake I buy makes me cringe at the thought of having to drink them. Scales are beginning to tilt in the wrong direction. I know it lies in the fact I am not getting enough protein. Struggling to MAINTAIN!~

If the sugars and carbs are too high - then don't try them.  Give them to your kids. 

I just ordered some new protein from Vitalady - think I got the cinnamon bun... anxious to try it in my coffee!

 I grabbed a cold iced tea at the food court the other day, then looked at the ingredients when I sat down.  It had something like 22g of sugar!  Needless to say I did NOT drink that one.


As for protein, I'm really enjoying the Syntrax Nectar Sweets called Double Chocolate Truffle.  I mix up a bat*****old coffee, then add half a cup of it to my hot coffee each morning.

 I did the same thing with Slimfast shakes.  DH hates them.  Think the food bank will take them?

 Isn't it crazy what they try to pass off as healthy these days!
My favorite combo protein shake lately is with my magic bullet I do one of the 2
1. 1 Scoop Nectar Chocolate Truffle
1/2 frozen banana (but you can do without it if you want to, or dont like banana
1-2 TB of PB2 (or you can put 1 TB of regular PB if you don't have PB2)
a few ice cubes 
about 1/2 cup of Hood Calorie Countdown Chocolate Milk (check label 1st, I get the 2% that is sweetened with Splenda, therefore no added sugar!)

It's SO yummy! and the more ice cubes, the thicker and more milk shakey it is

My variation on the above is that with my leftover morning decaf coffee, I put it in ice cube trays and freeze it, then blend up the Chco Truffle with the same milk and then use my coffee cubes to blend it...mmmmmm

PB2 is a powdered, reduced calorie and fat peanut butter.  It comes in regular or chocolate.  I buy both on Amazon.  I add it to protein pudding, protein drinks, greek yogurt etc.  I've never mixed it to eat off the spoon so I don't know how that is.  Google it because it has different prices in different places.  It's made by Bell Plantations.  I think I pay around $5 a bottle.  I buy both at the same time and use them for different things.

I took them back and got some muscle milk 100 calorie juice box looking things. They have 15 grams of protein milk free only 5 carbs. I haven't tasted them yet but I can hold my breathe that long to get it down to add some more protein. DH laughed at me last night he said why would you buy 18 if you don't know if you like them. I said one work SAMS!~ I said even if I don't like them I can make myself drink that much. Praying for good results. Scales are up motivation is down. Got to get a GRIP!!!! I know I am PMSing but every month I am adding a lb or 2 that doesn't come off with my period. Highly anxious over it. I am exercising more trying to watch what I eat. 3 day weekend decarbing and getting back to basics. I had an egg for breakfast. Plan on a shake for morning and afternoon snack and protein for lunch. Praying and working hard. 118 is the highest I have been it is FREAKING ME OUT!~
