Hello to all of our Lightweights!!! If you are visiting WELCOME....PLEASE JOIN US and POST!!!!! Besides my tool, I count Posting on the LW board as my #1 reason for being successful on this exciting journey!!!!

 My dr is not a fan of protein drinks.  I'm going to add protein powder to my food starting Friday. That's my first day of mashies.  I'm going to start protein drinks for breakfast too. I think the more protein I eat, the less tired I will feel.  I'm doing fine now but I'm just laying around the house.

I was pleased that my Dr is ok with protein, however you can get it in.  I still do 3 drinks a day.  Protien is so important to healing and having everything work.  We malabsorb protein just like we do Vits and Mins so you have to get more in that you would think.  Most successful vets find 100g a day is basic to keeping good labs and feeling good.  I can't imagine having to do that without the drinks.

Because of my knee, I upped my protein to around 150 a day.  That may be more than you want to do, even after you are further out, but it has worked for me.

I think it's great that you are up to running errands! I was wondering about the Protein too. Usually that's something you start right away if you can tolerate it.

brocalli soup with unjury protein

turkey sausage
fish, cabbage
protein drink

I had a protein bar after the chiro but was really hungry when I got home so I ate the rest of the turkey sausage. Now I don't want to cook. Oh well, supper can be late, DH is bowling and it is just me..
