I have been very discouraged and scared lately that someone has stolen my glass slipper. Depressed the last 2 weeks but now beginning to get better. FIBROMYALGIA in over kill. Decided the best way to fight it all was exercise. I have walked at lease 2 miles every night this week. 2 nights I walked 3 miles.

B-greek yougart
S-banana
Lunch-banana and some pretzels on the run with dear daughter. She is in hormonal hell these days...well that's another post. LOL
S-handful of almonds, Cutie orange
D- trying to decide between pork chops and salad with the family or a protein shake.

I have not done too well today. Need to get more protein in for sure. Guess theres always tomorrow.

Weight: I had gotten up to 117.8 over Christmas. TERRIFIED ME!! Thought I had totally lost the slipper! Cinderella had to kick it up.
This morning I weighed. 115.8. Guess it's going in the right direction.
I need some guidance to get back on track. Want to start adding shakes to help out just not sure how many to add.

Glad to see you posting but sorry to hear you are struggling!  Make sure you are eating enough so your body doesn't think it is starving.

I drink at least 100g of Protein a day plus lunch, dinner, and a couple snacks.  The only meal I drink Protein at is breakfast and I put extra in it.   I have learned through this process that I have to get all my Protein through drinks, base my meals on Protein first, have planned snacks, and make good carb choices in order to maintain. I average about 1300 calories a day.

The holidays were hard for a lot of us on maintenance.  I gained 4 lbs. but the scales are coming back down.  The thing I keep reminding myself of is how many cookies, sweets, carbs, diet pepsi, chips, dips, etc I would have eaten before WLS.  The 4 lbs. I gained is peanuts compared to the 15 or so I would have gained.  I also didn't start on a "diet" for New Years that would only last a few weeks.  I went back to eating "normal" and I'm down 2 of the 4.

You can do this!!!  Cinderella will be so Proud of you!!!

You are right. I think my body  has been in starvation mode for a while. I need to add more protein. I think I will add a protein drink in the morning. I tried to order the pure protein from bariatric eating. com but they have been out for weeks now. It was the only shake I could stand after surgery because the flavored stuff gagged me. I bought some shake mix by julian michaels today at walmart. Decided to try it. I think I was gaining because my body thinks its starving and is hanging on to it all. My doctor really encouraged me early on not to worry about shakes as much as trying to get true protein from food. He told me I was eating too much diety type foods and needed to focus on protein more. I know if I add more protein I wouldn't be as hungry for sure. I am going to follow your path and see if I can get my magic wand working again! I pray so.  thanks for your encouragement!~ Truly needed.

I'm not as far out as you but I still do 3 shakes a day most days.  On top of that, I sometimes to another dose in peanutbutter or greek yogurt.  Plus 3 protein based meals.  Seems like the protein drinks never hurt me in terms of weight and the more I add, the less I weigh.  I've kind of gotten to the point that if I want another one during the day, I do it.  I hope it never comes back and bites me in the butt because I like it this way.

It sounds like you have a plan!!!

I thought of you during the night and early this morning!  My DD, SIL, and DGD are on their way to Disney!!  Left at 5:30 this morning to get a 7:40 flight.  DGD was so excited when she stopped by last night.  She has been there several times before but she just turned 4 and this is the first time the rest of us aren't going so the whole trip is based around her.   She loves Belle which really upsets her Mom who loves Cinderalla and dreams of glass slippers...LOL

Welcome to the LW M&M Post!!!!   Introduce yourself on the LW Board too because not everyone reads this post.

Good for you losing over the holdiays!!  Most all of the LW's gain during their TOM...fortunately for me I haven't had one of those for over 20 years.

So glad to see you are drinking Protein Shakes!  I BELIEVE in them!!!   I don't drink coffee but Gina "Major Mom" is our coffee guru.   The concoctions our coffee drinkers come up with sound so wonderful!

Good Menu!
