Yes, what Price said.  The 5DPT is for those of us that are "out" of surgery a pretty significant time.  I had a vet tell me once that you don't do this within the first year.  In fact, this is the first time I've done it and I'm over 3 years out.   Its not intended to get you out of a stall during the active weight lost period, but for those of us in maintenance and have strayed, gets us back on track!

Thanks Jody! I've been having trouble getting in my protein.  These binders are squishing my Sleevie.  I got in one protein pudding this morning but think shakes would be easier.

Im going to start tomorrow with a chocolate/ PB2. Shake.

Ive often gone back to your blog to read the shakes!

Hi Lee!!  I know when I was in my binders I too had issues with eating much.  Maybe I should go put it back on again  to get that feeling back!  LOL.

I want to experiement with some of my SF syrups in place of the fruit, etc.  I'm going into town today so I'm going to stop at Target and get me a magic bullet or equivalent.

Glad to read you are feeling better - but, I want to see some pictures!  Do you have some on your profile?  Also, I'm sorry to hear about what happened.  Hugs to you!!

LOL about the binder self torture.  Friday I'll be 4 weeks out and I must be less swollen because the binders are not as tight .   My sleevie has gotten used to less food.  I dont mind as I wanted this bound back room.  I don't want to sacrifice health though.  My thiamine just came low which suggests I need more nutrition.
No pics up yet.

Hi Lee,

Glad to hear that your recovery is progressing. As far as the thiamine, the Bariatric Internist recommended Vitamin B1, which is thiamine. It is inexpensive and is what the program is recommending now, instead of the horse-like Vitamin B tablets. Just a thought of how to get your thiamine. Mine was high, but it is water soluble, so no danger of toxicity. I take B1 everyday. It is definitely one that you don't want to go too low on. Can cause permanent nerve damage.

Hi Gail, my nerve endings have been out of wack but I thought it was nerve regeneration.

I started taking a b complex that I got from vitalady.  I already started feeling better yesterday but I did have terrible stomach cramps a couple hours later. It was the only thing that I changed in my routine.  I'll see if it happens again today.

Are those the sublingual b complex that stink to high heaven? I used those post-op for awhile, until I couldn't stand it any longer. B vitamins can cause stomach upset, which is part of the reason for the bariatric department started recommending the plain Vitamin B1 supplement. Plus, the Thiamine tablet is easier for people to swallow during the early post-op period.  It should be 100 mg. The one that I have is odorless and tasteless. I think I bought it at a drug store and it was very inexpensive.

Yup, the stanky ones. That's why I still have some.  I'll get some B1 today.  Thanks!

Congrats on the weight loss.

Also, I think your nerve endings are regenerating, which is probably what you are feeling.

Hope to see you soon!!!

Did you have to adjust your vits over the years?

You may even have had different guidlines than what is given out now.  e.g. I take B-50 complex at the moment. (in addition to the sub-lingual B12)   Did Dr Mo's office have you do that too?  Seems like most other people take different B vits.

I'll be getting my first labs done next monday so I'll find out how I'm doing then.
