Good going. Your day one was my day two though I am not doing the 5DPT. I have gone all the way back to my preop diet. 4-5 shakes, and a protein salad for dinner, though I am eating more protein than salad.

Day two was more difficult,I caved and had some almonds but could have been worse.

Today, day 3 has been much easier. I am having some acid issues and sleevie insisted on more than protein drinks so I had plain tuna and she was appeased.  Have had two protein drinks already and hoping to get another soon.

Down about 2# of water weight I was carrying from carbs last week. I just am counting the days without recreational sugar, which is like cocaine to me. GAH! So 2.5 days of abstinence...so far so good.

Good for you!!  It really doesn't matter what we do to get back on track, its just that we do.

Day 3 on the 5DPT does let you have some tuna and soft foods.  I'm going to have to look it up again to see what I can have.  I see they  have a lot of fat free foods on here, and that's not a big thing here in this household, so I'll probably have a litte more fat than called for... but oh well.  I'll keep those foods to a minimum.

I'm not a huge sugar person, so that's good.  Actually I've been doing pretty good with eating overall, its just my beer I like too much, which metabolizes into sugars... so its carbs I'm dealing with.  When I eat I rarely will put a simple carb in my mouth because of my Reactive Hypoglycemia... if I do I monitor myself closely for up to 2 hours... its a PITA but keeps me in check.  I can imagine what my weight would be if I could eat whatever I wanted to without some consequence!!  I really focus on wheat products if I'm going to have breads of any kind.

I have done the 5DP several times and it has worked, till I went back on my plan. then I couldn't seem to keep losing so that is why I am bring out the big guns. I am aalmost 2 years out and still want to reach goal, one way or the other.

I am not a big fan of fat free either, esp when low crbing. they rcommend full fat everything. I never even worry with fat grams as long as I follow my program. it takes care of itself if I stay on track.

Interesting about the beef. Wonder why it doesn't affect your RH?

So today was my day two of the 5DPT! It was a good day, I stuck to it - question, are you finding hunger to be an issue? I really am struggling with that.

I decided to do it for several reasons, the top one was to tame the carb. Second, is a strange one. My DH has been saying I have an "odor" kinda sweet but rotten at the same time, (sorry, if TMI) but I am trying to get to the bottom of this. My theory is that it is the carbs.... We will see.

Anyone else have anything like this?
Thanks!

Yes, hunger was an issue early in the day.  I was out at a Dr's appt so really couldn't do anything about it and it tamed down.

No, haven't heard anything like you're describing as an odor... interesting...
