I'm hoping I'm just nuts here, but that is sure what this seems like. I'm pretty sure I just had my period the week of the 11th. It is only the 26th and I have spotting. And twice now meat tastes nasty to me...had some turkey on Sunday that was spit it out bad, and then a burger today that tasted funky, but DH said they both tasted fine.
Just read online that you can't get a positive blood test until 3-4 days after implantation and my surgery is scheduled for Dec. 30th. I'm supposed to do my pre op tomorow, including a chest x-ray at the hospital.
I sure wish I could just know for sure if it is pregnancy, or just stupid hormonal crap. DH and I had unprotected sex (dumb, but true) so pregnancy is at least an outside chance. We usually aren't that careful because my gyno says I have PCOS, possible perimenopause, and he thinks that I don't always ovulate...also I'm 100 pounds overweight. That said, the only time I've ever spotted was due to pregnancy.
I was a really miserable pregnant lady with my daughter.
Any advice? I suppose I could postpone and get tested in a week, but I hate to do that at the very last minute. And then I would have more time to be anxious too...yay.

I know you probably don't want to hear this, but I would talk to the surgeon and tell him exACTly what is happening. If you are pregnant, you won't be able to get all the nutrients to the baby at the most valuable time--those first few months. It is so hard to even drink enough liquids, let alone get enough proteins and all. You will have enough to battle with getting your strength back after surgery, if you are pregnant...well, that's a whole other thing. And you don't want to be having morning sickness after going through surgery and having stitches in your abdomen. Just a few things to consider.
I would really think about making sure if you are pregnant first before you proceed. If you aren't, then you can make all the necessary plans all over.
Either way--congratulations!!!!

I agree. You need to know for sure. I would be letting my Dr know and he can help you with planning.
Hopefully this turns out as you desire, whatever that is.

Heck if you are anything like me, I always knew at the first possible moment. They always said to wait till you missed your cycle but with me I would know within a week. If the hormones are raging then you may be able to take a test to see what the results are. I found the most accurate are the ones from the Dollar tree LOL..Yes Dollar tree! Still need to let your surgeon know ASAP (but I would be hitting the store first)
Also quick question? Are you on a pre op liquid diet and have you lost any weight lately. When I had my surgery ( I know you havent yet) I started almost immediately because of the drastic weightloss even though I had just had it. Think about it, could be possible.. Look for other signs too, breast tenderness, irritability... Heck all the symptoms of PMS LOL.. Good Luck hun
