Bowel blockages
I had plastic surgery two weeks ago and didn't go the first week. After that I took 1 dose of miralax and started eating papaya every morning and that helped me a lot. Since then I'm not taking anything besides fruit and I'm ok but I'm not in your situation. I can just relate about the discomfort after that first week that I had. Not going is the worst and becomes so painful and stressful.
I hope you can find a solution that helps you become more regular. I remember being in foreign countries where the toilet is a hole in the ground. They say that squating like that really helps to "get everything out" . I like to gently massage my tummy for a long time if I'm having difficulty. Maybe a good self massage followed by squatting on the floor like a baby bird might help before actually getting on the toilet. Hot herbal tea thrown into that mix helps as well. You might even try a ho****er bottle on your tummy to try to relax everything. it sounds very stressful to me. Try putting on lovely soothing music in the bathroom. The night I finally went after plastics I did all of the above except the squatting because my thighs were a mess of stitches.
I know you'll find what works for you.

Karin, sorry you are having problems. I never had any problems until after WLS.
I take 2 Colace(Walmart brand) every morning.
about 2 tsp miralax
2 magnesium
that works most of the time. I also try to get in over 100 ozs of water every day.
When this doesn't work I use a glycerin suppository.
Hope you can find something that works for you.

Well I went to the chemist this morning and spoke to the pharmacist about the problem. He suggested I do the whole big clean out using the "Picolax" and then start daily with this powder called "Osmolax" which is an Osmotic Laxative and it's ingredient is called "Macrogol". So hopefully this will work.
I do love my vegies and I've probably not ad anywhere near enough of them as I should be so they are also high priority on the grocery list. It's summer time over here and I've lived on heaps of salad vegies and not as many as I would normally eat in the winter time. I've been making a lovely cold Broccoli salad which is just steamed broccoli and pine nuts and some pesto stirred through it. Apart from that I eat a green salad with the works and that has in it lettuce mix, cherry tomotoes, beetroot, kidney beans, cubed cheese, cold meat of some sort and little bit of vinegarette dressing.
I probably eat way too much cheese and I know this is not good for constipation so I'll also give it a try to limit the cheese.
Cheers from Karin (in Oz)

I had something like the same problem after my surgery until I introduced air popped popcorn which is a super satisfying snack food , very low calorie and tremendously high fiber . Haven'thad any issues since .
I think some of us just eat more VOLUME than other people .. and those bulky foods really help .
Good luck ((((()))))
You may not need them all the time especially if you can break this cycle.
