It's too bad that you're stuck in the hospital over the holidays.  Although it's typically easy to fix, it's not a fun place to be.
Take care

Well that is a bummer.  Bad timing but I bet Santa can find you even there.  I was in the hospital when I had a C-sec for my daughter, 1979, with hormones flowing.  I cried the whole time, happy, sad, just cried.  Actually, they let me come home Chirstmas eve, early.  She was the best Christmas present I ever got.

Merry Christmas.

Thanks guys, I'm a bundle of emotions.  Crying one minute, laughing the next !
They did a fluroscopy and a KUB and they are not sure if I am only passing a small amt of liquid through or none at all.  The upper GI was inconclusive b/c I couldn't keep the liquid down. They think I have a small opening b/c I can keep some saliva down.
I was really dehydrated and my electrolytes were off balance, so I've been getting potassium replacement since Thursday and phosphorus replacement on Friday.  My urine output was only 400 ml for 24 hrs on Friday so they wanted to get me hydrated.
My pouch is also inflammed and they have me on IV Nexxium.  I'm also on Zofran for nausea.  I've been NPO since Thursday.  To top it off, my surgeon is out of the country !
They said that if there is a small opening then they will be able to do the endoscopy and put the balloon down to open it, but if there is no opening I will have to have surgery again :(  Please pray that there is an opening.
They are starting me on TPN tonight, so that I can get some nutrition.

Man, doesn't it suck to be sick enough to be in the hospital but not sick enough for emergency surgery? I say make someone come in on their day off so you can go home!

Just  kidding. I know that's not realistic.

Try to have fun and make your family/friends visit you a lot!

ha ! that's exactly what my husband said to the resident, he was like I'm sorry I'm just the low man on the totem pole that takes orders.  He has a cast on his leg, so I kinda felt sorry for him and told my husband to go with the flow :)
