Good Morning. Quality over quantity...

...value over price. These are just a couple of things I try to keep in mind, not that I succeed, old habits die hard. This new year I want to put these ideals into practice more.

New year resolutions? Any thoughts yet?

Gosh I'm having a hard time thinking of new year resolutions. Right now I'm just trying to keep my Christmas inventory in my head for food and gifts.

I've usually always been pretty good on the value over price issue. We started thinking that way when we bought our Maytag washer and dryer set over 20 years ago. That set is still going, and the last time I had a repair, the repairman said it will probably last another 20.

I think my new year resolution has to be to increase the days of exercise.  I'm exercising 3 days a week, but I need to get it up to 4 or 5.

DH and I both have a hard time with value over price sometimes.  Old habits are hard to get rid of - when updated our kitchen we got really good appliances but then I wanted a certain kind of sink(not the deep one because I'm short) - now I kind of regret that decision.  We didn't get an expensive one and you can now tell 2 years later.  There are certain things that I won't budge on and don't care that it cost more...

New year resolutions - I really want to get back into jogging/running.  Zumba is on break right now at the college for 2 weeks so I'm not getting any exercise.  The weather here has been bad the last few days so you can't get outside and walk.  I have DVD's just haven't done any of them!!  I really want to do the Peachtree Road Race again this year so I guess that is my big goal for the year and to actually jog/run most of it.

i am still living so day to day at this point it is hard to do long term thinking.  Right now, getting through the holidays and having staff prepared for the 1-3-12 business changes seems as much as I can wrap my head around.  At the same time, getting back as much mobility as possible is my main goal.  I have to do national accrediation again this year and that will take up a lot of business time.  With all of my rates going down with the changes, staying on top of my business income and expenses so we can stay afloat.

My normal resolution is to be a better person -- Be nice to people. Don't be catty.  Give people the benefit of a doubt. Don't jump to conclusions.  Make the people that are important to me a priority in my life.  I get better every year, but I still have a long way to go.

I'm going to add another resolution this year -- Stay on plan.  I'm not in weight loss mode any more, but I'll be coming out of the honeymoon stage soon.  I really need to refocus myself on my eating plan.  I'm feeling so good and I love hearing people say how good I look.  It would kill me to have significant regain.  The best way to prevent regain...stay on plan.

Merry Christmas!

When it comes to clothes and big purchases I've learned over the years that quality is better and lasts longer.  When it comes to decorating I go with price because I like to change things often.

I finally convinced my oldest DD to let me buy her some good jeans and heels for Christmas because she wears her things until they start falling apart.  I'm hoping it doesn't backfire on me....LOL

DD#2 and #3 love cheap clothes because they like quanity and change so they are going to have alot more presents under the tree.

I haven't made a New Year's resolution since having WLS because like most of us it was always to start a diet but this year It is to start walking again.  When going through my 6 months of preparation I walked in my basement and I did it religiously and enjoyed it.  I'm going to start that again as soon as the presents are gone and there is a pathway open. Although I happy where I am,  I'd like to get back in the 112-115 lb range....it just sounds better than 116....LOL.

My daily resolution is to stay as close to plan as possible.  Hydrate, vitamins, eat quality food and log on myfitnessplan, exercise and most important is to seek a positive attitude everyday.

I will wake up on January 1st and say the same thing.  I feel very fortunate.

An added goal this month is to do everything necessary to recover from the plastic surgery two weeks ago.

I'm with the stay on plan people! Had my 2 year check up yesterday, and the surgeon pointed out that now the real work begins - making sure I understand my life and managing it to stay as healthy as I want.

So - stay on plan!!

Secondary - stop being such a wimp! I've been taking private skating lessons since last summer, and can finally skate backwards and do 3-turns and mohawks, and am working on edges. But I'm afraid to do any of it at more than a snail's pace. I have GOT to get over that!

I am with the  back on plan folks as well.  Since Thanksgiving I have been eating a lot of crap to keep the scale from going any lower. But I bounced back up to 140 and I like where I am and I want to sty here.  In Jan I can start back at the gym and I need to re focus. But I do not dare say the Diet word because I do not diet!   that reminds me of my old life and I am not that person anymore.

I also will see my new nutritionist to help me refocus in addition Hubby has agreed to see him as well that is a bonus!

Hope you all have a great Holiday
